| English for Foreign Learners (EFL) |
| The preparatory class helps students to improve their command of English in order to cope with the mainstream curriculum. Students usually spend about 6 months to a year to build their foundation in English. Students will be given an entry test to determine the level of entry. ASE shall determine students’ English Proficiency Level based on the following test: |
- Vocabulary & Grammar: Students will be tested on their knowledge and grasp of words relating to everyday situations. Specialized, technical vocabulary will not be included. Students’ understanding and ability to handle basic grammatical rules will also be put to the test.
- Letter Writing: The students’ ability to explain and express in writing, will be determined in this section. Clarity, coherence and correct usage of expressions will be signals to success in this section.
- Oral: This is the teachers’ favourite session. A friendly and conducive environment will be provided, in which students are tested on their ability to maintain a casual conversation, with comprehension and clear communication being the order of the day
